Everyone I know (including myself) always just goes to the head branch in Pudong (on Minsheng Rd) to get all visa-related stuff done. But why? Most people have other branches (also listed on this site) that ostensibly serve the same needs, no? I’m a little hesitant to waste half a day going to another branch, but I’d like to know if anyone had a seamless experience doing so. For instance, if you’re not going to the head branch, do you need to go to the branch that matches your residential address, or can you go to the one nearest to your office instead? What about for those people living far outside the city center? And even if the services are the same at any branch, is the policy and/or pass rate different from the one in Pudong?
Many thanks! Such a simple question, but on one I’ve asked seems to know!
Hi Matthew,
I’m also curious on these questions. However, based on what I’ve been hearing, the PSB HQ on minsheng road in Pudong seems to be the most up-to-date with policies and seem to issue stay visas without cancelling certain multiple entry visa(whereas other PSBs would follow rules before COVID times and cancel the multiple entry visa).
But during none coronavirus times… there’s no difference in, for instance, applying for a work permit, from one PSB location to another. If anything, maybe the officers at PSB HQ speak better English.
TL;DR:
Honestly, I don’t know.
