Hi, please let me what to do in my situation. I am from Slovakia and my husband is working in Shanghai now. But I am in Slovakia now and can not come because of the closing border. Please let me know what to do in our situation and when will be legislation for family reunion? Thank you a lot for any of your advise

Hi Vlada,
Unfortunately, you are not alone in this. A lot of families are in the same situation – separated due to the ban on foreigner entries to China. We just have to wait until the Chinese government lifts the ban on foreigners entering China.
Sorry, I don’t have any good news for you. I’m also eagerly waiting for the news because I am also stuck outside of China haha. And my residence permit expired just last week.
Rumor has it… that they will lift the ban end of May-ish – 2 months after they banned incoming foreigners. Don’t keep your hopes up. Who knows what may change between now and then.
