Hello everyone, I would like to know in my situation ( residence permit throught Q2 visa , my wife is chinese, the residence permit expires in 2 years) according to the regulations i can stay no less than 180 days, I want to know if under the current situation i can extend my period of stay.  I dont want to leave China , my wife is here and we are expecting a baby.

Hi Zachary, 
During normal circumstances (without covid), you would have to leave China by your 180th day.
With covid, you can stay extra 60 days(the “automatic extension”) so you can stay until your 240th consecutive day in China.
A week before your 240th day, you need to apply for a stay permit.

However, I’m curious why they didn’t give you a Q1 spouse visa so you can stay longer…
