In the COVID-19 pandemic, my resident permit got expired last year April2020 and I was out of China from pandemic started.
My current work-permit is about to expire this year in April2021. But due to the border ban situatiuon for my home country(India) by China, I am not able to travel back to China.
So can I get work-permit extension online as done last year?

If you no longer have a valid residence permit, then you cannot apply for an extension for your work permit online.
So you if you want to work in China again, you need to start all over and apply for a new work permit again.
