Good Samaritan Case Study 3:

Business Visa(M) - consulting with the immigration officer on how to stay longer during covid-19 pandemic period

From Samaritan #3:

Already used auto 60-day extension. Successfully got visa extension for M visa today. It does not cancel my current visa.

Making a post to let everyone know: Make sure you go to the Pudong headquarters of the 出入境管理局 to apply.

I went to the Jing An office first and they had no idea what I was talking about, said I could get humanitarian visa for 30 days and cancel current visa if I wanted, but absolutely no other option. So I drove to Pudong and I didn’t have to explain anything to them, all was done in five minutes.

I cannot speak to anything other than M visa. They did ask me if my business activities were still ongoing or not, if I said no maybe they wouldn’t have allowed me to extend, not sure.

Hope no one goes to a non-HQ office and takes their word for not being able to do 2nd extension.

You will need:

1) Invitation letter with company stamp (newly written from company, not original you used from visa app, have them say you need to stay for ongoing business + pandemic)

2) Your inviting company’s business license (original and copy)

3) Police address registration form

4) Passport

5) They will take your photo and give you application form there

The invitation letter contained a statement that all expenses would be covered by them[the Company] and they take responsibility for me. Standard template.
